When completing my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, one of my textbooks mentioned the Institute for Family Services and the work by Dr. Rhea Almeida, the founder of the Institute and creator of the Cultural Context Model. I was fortunate to be accepted into the program and completed my internship at the Institute. The quality of the training I received was unparalleled to what clinicians in training normally get. Dr. Almeida’s clinical skills paired with a two way mirror experience, favors collaboration, insight and learning in ways that truly facilitate the creation of professionals of another caliber. I will be forever grateful that the Institute and Dr. Almeida helped me become the clinician I am today.
